Hex Head Screws
Hex head screws feature a six-sided (hexagonal) head designed to be driven with a wrench (spanner), socket, or hex driver. They typically have a threaded shaft that extends most of the way up to the head. The head sits above the surface of the material.
- High-Torque Applications: Where significant tightening force is needed (e.g., machinery, structural framing, automotive parts).
- Construction & Framing: Joining wood or metal studs, attaching heavy fixtures.
- Automotive & Machinery: Engine components, brackets, assemblies requiring robust fastening.
- Furniture Assembly: Especially heavy-duty or structural pieces like workbenches.
- Situations where Stripping is a Concern: The hex drive is less prone to cam-out (slipping/stripping) compared to Phillips or slotted heads under high torque.
